OMNI Healthcare Covid-19 Vaccinations

OMNI Healthcare will be administering Coronavirus vaccinations on an appointment-only basis. While we expect to receive our allotment of the vaccine from the state, we are currently awaiting our shipment and have none in stock. All appointments are made in good faith and are predicated on receiving additional vaccines from the state. If OMNI does not expect to have vaccine available on the day of your appointment we will notify you in advance and you will have the option to reschedule your appointment. At this time OMNI is scheduling appointments for the week of February 8.

OMNI will be vaccinating people who meet the criteria specified in Governor DeSantis’ executive order dated December 23, 2020. During this initial stage of Covid-19 vaccine administration, the executive order specifies that all providers shall only vaccinate the following populations: • Long-term care facility residents and staff; • Persons 65 years of age and older; and • Healthcare personnel with direct patient contact.

If you have not contacted OMNI to make your appointment yet, send an email to COVID@OMNIhealthcare.com with "vaccine" as the subject line and include your full name, phone number. Due to the overwhelming number of emails, it may take up to a week for an OMNI Healthcare representative to call you and set up your appointment. We thank you for your patience.

The initial location for people with appointments to receive the vaccine is 1344 S. Apollo Boulevard in Melbourne, FL 32940. Additional locations will be announced as OMNI receives more vaccine.

OMNI Healthcare Prepares to Administer COVID-19 Vaccine.

December 7, 2020, Melbourne, FL - With recent numbers of coronavirus cases at their highest single-day increase since July, the number of people being tested is also on the rise. President and CEO of OMNI Healthcare Dr. Craig Deligdish has become an expert on coronavirus testing since the pandemic began, launching some of Central Florida’s first outdoor drive through sites. By now, Dr. Deligdish estimates OMNI Healthcare has tested as many as 40,000 people for COVID-19. The rise in testing he says is due to a variety of reasons which includes people traveling for the holidays.

“There have also been outbreaks within places of business and everyone has had to be tested as a result of that,” said Dr. Deligdish.

OMNI Healthcare has become an authority on COVID-19 testing in the community. Patients have their choice of tests with OMNI offering a variety of antibody and antigen tests. The antibody test detects whether a person has ever been infected with the virus that causes COVID-19. It is thought that someone with antibodies present may have some protection against being reinfected.

The antigen tests determine whether you currently have the virus and OMNI offers a few of those, including rapid tests with results in less than 15 minutes and the molecular RT PCR nasopharyngeal test, which is the most reliable test with results in 24 hours. Dr. Deligdish often describes that test as the gold standard for COVID-19.

“So we have really been offering patients every type of test and we anticipate and expect to be offering the vaccine to our patients as well,” Deligdish added.

In addition to drive-through coronavirus testing, OMNI Healthcare has also been conducting clinical trials which test the effectiveness of certain rapid COVID-19 tests. Respondents for the clinical trials receive up to $60 in compensation.

As cases rise, people want a safe and effective vaccine. OMNI Healthcare is currently preparing to handle a large number of people as it has for testing since the spring.

According to Dr. Deligdish, “We are ready, willing and able to store and administer the vaccine. It’s not particularly different from any other vaccine. In the past, we’ve been able to accommodate as many as 1,000 patients per day and we anticipate being able to give 1,000 - 2,000 doses to the extent that the vaccine is available in those types of quantities”.

While OMNI Healthcare is poised to begin inoculations now, the vaccine is not available just yet.

“While it is not clear exactly how that vaccine will be distributed, OMNI anticipates that it will be administering it to the community and its patients as early as December 16,” Deligdish added.

As Floridians have been worn down by coronavirus restrictions, Dr. Deligdish remains optimistic that things will get better in the new year.

“I believe between the number of people already infected and the expected availability, assuming it’s safe and effective as touted, I think we will turn the corner around April to May of next year.”

Until then, if you’re in need of testing, visit OMNI Healthcare’s COVID-19 website: www.COVID19TestBrevard.com or call (321) 802-5515 to make an appointment with no waiting. COVID-19 testing is available in all OMNI Healthcare offices for current patients. For more information about OMNI Healthcare and its locations visit www.OMNIhealthcare.com.

Questions regarding OMNI's preparation for distributing the COVID-19 vaccine should be directed to Dr. Deligdish's office (321) 727-3495.

TeleHealth is Now at OMNI Healthcare

OMNI Healthcare is now able to offer you an opportunity to connect with a physician through our telehealth (virtual) program. Telehealth practices use live or real time video and sound to connect you with your physician while you are at another location. The telehealth appointment is as private as if you were in the physicians’ office. We use secure software to connect you to the physician. To connect, you need a smartphone, PC or tablet with a working microphone and camera. It is essential we can see and hear each other during the appointment so the physician can adequately discuss your diagnosis and treatment plans with you.

Telehealth can be used for the following services:

1) Patients with existing conditions needing an appointment with the physician for medication refill and review current healthcare plan.

2) Patients who are sick and need their symptoms reviewed with a physician.

3) Patients needing an annual checkup (at the discretion of their provider).

For questions regarding our telehealth program or to schedule your virtual appointment, please contact your OMNI Healthcare physician today. Visit our website at www.OMNIHealthcare.com.
