OMNI Healthcare begins new COVID-19 immunity testing at its Melbourne COVID-19 drive-through testing facility.
The new Covid-19 test is a serological enzyme linked immunosorbent assay that checks for the presence of antibodies against the virus. A positive result indicates that a person has been previously infected and under most circumstances is immune to re-infection. It can be performed on blood obtained from a finger stick. Test results are available with minutes.
OMNI’s drive-through testing center is located at 1344 S. Apollo Blvd in Melbourne. Unlike the testing for the Cornavirus (using a test performed by RT-PCR from a nasopharyngeal swab or sputum) rolled out earlier last week, the new immunity tests indicate who has been previously infected and has antibodies to fight the coronavirus infection. Only patients previously tested for the virus will be eligible for the finger test. Patients will be given the option of being tested for the virus and the antibody if they meet eligibility criteria.
Patients interested in being tested can make appointments by calling (321) 802-5515 or emailing email@example.com. Our staff is working tirelessly seven days a week to answer every call, reply to all emails and return calls left in voicemail. We appreciate your patience.
The Melbourne test collecting facility operates daily from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Testing will be billed to third party payers. Patients without insurance will be charged $100 for immunity testing. Once someone is determined to be immune and determined to be free of the COVID-19 virus, the current consensus is that they are no longer infectious, are immune from re-infection, and can stop social distancing.
OMNI Healthcare in Melbourne now serves as
COVID-19 drive-through test collection facility.
Patients pre-screened for COVID-19 are eligible for testing.
OMNI Healthcare at 1344 S. Apollo Blvd in Melbourne is now designated as a drive-through test collection site for COVID-19. Patients can be pre-screened and pre-register by calling (321) 802-5515 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Those patients meeting eligibility criteria based on OMNI Healthcare’s guidelines are eligible for a nasopharyngeal swab collection at OMNI’s facility in Melbourne. Eligibility requirements include first responders, anyone with minimal symptoms of a cough or low grade fever, age over 45 with one chronic illness or anyone over the age of 60.
PRE-QUALIFICATION IS REQUIRED. To register for a COVID-19 nasal swab test, Call (321) 802-5515 to be screened and potentially qualified. Once registered and authorized for collection, patients will retrieve their nasal swab kit at the Melbourne drive-through location. Physicians will be on-hand to administer the test. Once the administration of the test is complete, it will be processed using the RT-PCR test approved by the FDA.
An OMNI Healthcare physician will review the results with each patient via Telehealth (virtual) services and provide next steps.
The Melbourne test collecting facility will begin operating on Tuesday, April 7th at 8am and run daily thereafter from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. For more information about OMNI Healthcare’s drive-through test collection facility in Melbourne and possible other sites, please refer to www.COVID19testbrevard.com.
